ABOUT DHOLERA

What is Dholera Smart City?

Dholera Smart City is India's first planned Greenfield smart city located in Gujarat and developed under the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). It has been declared as a Special Investment Region (SIR) by the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat Special Investment Region Act, 2009.

Unlike traditional cities that grow randomly, Dholera is being developed with proper town planning, underground utilities, smart governance systems, industrial zones, residential sectors, and commercial hubs. The total planned area covers approximately 920 square kilometers — making it twice the size of Delhi and 6 times bigger than Shanghai.

The city is designed to accommodate 20 lakh+ residents and is expected to generate 8 lakh+ employment opportunities once fully operational. It is being built with world-class infrastructure including 6-lane & 8-lane roads, smart water management, waste recycling plants, and a completely underground utility network.
